Fall weddings in the North East have a beauty of their own. The leaves changing color and the trees shedding preparing themselves for new beginnings. Our bride chose to wear a traditional gujarati panetar with a separate dupatta for her veil. I love mixed weddings and the different traditions that prevail in ceremonies giving the guests a truly magical experience.
“Kavita is amazing! I was extremely stressed on my wedding day and Kavita was like a breath of fresh air. She was on time and knew exactly how to work with my dupatta. In a matter of minutes it went from an unruly mess of fabric to a beautiful draping. Best of all it stayed completely secure throughout the night; including a lot of dancing! Kavita was so calm amidst all the chaos and was able to help me out on other ways too. I needed extra bobby pins, band-aids, help with my hair…and Kavita came to the rescue. She was worth every penny – I highly recommend her services.” – Samra, California
After exchanging 30+ emails, I finally met my west coast bride on her wedding day. The day had plenty of surprises in store, but everything somehow managed to seamlessly come together to make sure her special day went on without a hitch! Meet this fun bride!
Bhumi and Neil exchanged vows with regal flair, which was showcased by their elaborate wardrobe at the Sheraton castle. Draping services were provided for the bride, her sister, mother and her lovely bridesmaids.
To celebrate the beginning of their love story at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where Arpita and Viral met and fell in love, they chose to have their gorgeous ceremony and reception at The Heldrich in New Brunswick, NJ. The Bride had selected a Black & Pink wedding theme which was reflected in the event details down to the bridal party wardrobe. To ensure her ladies looked equally gorgeous, the bride didn’t hesitate to book Style My Sari for her sari draper needs. We draped the bride, maid of honor and 6 lovely bridesmaids in flowy sarees, selected by the bride. Each one of them looked simply beautiful. Thank you making us an integral part of your big day!

Set on a farm in Central NJ, one of my bridesmaids, Kiran, married her love, Georgios; bringing together Hindu and Greek cultures to create a symphony of traditional customs with modern flair. They had a church ceremony at a Greek Orthodox church with 8 Bridesmaids and a Hindu ceremony in the garden under 100 year-old vines with another 9 bridesmaids. The farmhouse was back dropped by an old water tower, some barns and fields of flowers and other crops. I got the bride ready for her afternoon ceremony and the reception outfit change as well as 9 bridesmaids and the groom’s sister. Being in the wedding, I had a little help from my girlfriends. Here are a few pictures of the lovely ladies.
“As a destination bride, I had a lot on my plate, but Kavita took one of the most important tasks off my shoulders — making sure that my mom, my bridesmaids and I were all perfectly draped in our saris. Knowing that I had Kavita’s expertise and drive for perfection, put my mind at ease before walking down the aisle. Thank you Kavita! You’re the best!” – Sejal Shah, Washington, DC
Sejal and Jay had a tropical outdoor wedding overlooking the bay at the Waldorf El Conquistador in Fajardo Puerto Rico. They met doing what they both love, dancing. Their marriage theme, “Live, Love, Dance” describe them perfectly. To compliment the gentle breezes of the November climate, the Bride, her Mother, her Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids were draped in light flowy saree fabrics harmonizing with the exotic destination.
A lot of brides these days want to use their own makeup artist and hair stylist for their wedding day. This option may provide veil draping for the bride, still leaving details to be managed for sari draping for your bridal party. This leaves the bride with a dilemma on her hands. Should you go with the all-in-one bridal package that provides hair/makeup/draping for one price? Do they provide draping for the rest of your bridal party? Or would you rather use your own make up artist and hire someone to take care of the draping duties for the day? If you fall in the latter category, you’ve come to the right place!
For such an important day, the peace of mind that someone will be there to style you and your bridal party on time for your wedding is definitely worth it. It’s one less detail to manage to ensure perfection and eliminate wardrobe malfunctions. If you already have your hair and makeup artist(s) and are looking for someone to drape your bridal sari / dupatta for your wedding, contact me for availability or any other questions you may have.
